One of my favorite days every two years is Election Day. I’m not sure why but i vividly remember the first time i was eligible to vote. It was the election of 2000. I drove home from college and voted at the same place I went to elementary school. The possibility to affect the future direction of our republic is an awesome responsibility.

I hope my friends in Florida (regardless of your party affiliation) take the opportunity to exercise this sacred duty. It’s a right many have died to preserve for this generation.

A few Quotes to consider as the election season is upon us:

The future of this republic is in the hands of the American voter.
-Dwight D. Eisenhower

To make democracy work, we must be a nation of participants, not simply observers.
One who does not vote has no right to complain.
-Louis L’Amour

The idea of an election is much more interesting to me than the election itself.
The act of voting is in itself the defining moment.
-Jeff Melvoin
